Bowen Therapy
Is a soft tissue therapy that works by gently stimulating superficial & deep fascia. Fascia is the network of connective tissue throughout our bodies that surrounds muscle & bones, protects nerves & supports movement. The gentle stretching & rolling movement of the bowen technique helps to break up adhesions & improve alignment & hydration of the fascia. This in turn restores the bioelectrical capacity of the fascia & improves nutrient & oxygen supply, waste product removal & neural innervation of the fascia & the tissues (eg. muscles, organs) it surrounds & supports.

As such, bowen therapy is able to help a variety of conditions including:
-musculoskeletal injuries
-neck & shoulder problems,
-headaches & migraines, TMJ
-back pain & sciatica
-RSI & sporting injuries
-chronic pain, fibromyalgia, Chronic fatigue syndrome
-menstrual & hormonal irregularities
-stress, anxiety & depression

Because it is gentle, it's an ideal treatment for pregnant & post-partum mums as well as infants & children. In addition to the above conditions, bowen is also beneficial for treating some lactation problems and is a great treatment for babies having difficulty with attachment due to neck restrictions. It can also help calm unsettled & fussy babies and help with reflux & colic.
